MALAYSIAN ICT AWARDS RESULTS

Just wanted to let you know how it all went over here. We won 3rd place at the Gala Awards dinner last night, which I think is fabulous. The whole week has been incredible. The dinner last night was amazing. The resort looked like something out of Las Vegas. A Sphinx at the entrance, life-size carved elephants, statues of tigers attacking deer (in a herd) and that was just the outside. Inside, the ceilings were so high I can't even estimate, huge marble columns, massive chandeliers oppulence gone crazy - all incredibly outrageous in a very, very expensive way. Even the dinner part was amazing. A dance show with dancers representing each country.

Ours was an aboriginal in a little skirt, with a spear and boomerang with silver beads across his chest! The whole thing had to be seen to be believed. Music, a light show, it just went on and on. I am sure I will never see anything like it again.

An incredibly clever bright Malaysian boy won the secondary student division and deserved to. The web application he made was amazing - something I will never be clever enough to make and he's only 16! St Joseph's Gregory Terrace (Brisbane) was second and we were only a point behind them. All in all, a very satisfactory result.

Tomorrow, I leave the hotel at 8.30am and don't get to Brisbane until 12.05am Monday morning. It will be a long day.

I will contact ABC Radio this week to let them know about the whole trip as well (I spoke to them before I left too).
