This is the Library service for Mount Isa and District. Library Hours:
Mon-Thursday 10.00am-6.00pm, Friday 10.00am-5.00pm, Saturday 9.00am-4.00pm.
Our collection includes books, magazines, cassettes, CD's videos,
pamphlets, hear a book, foreign language books, newspapers, CD Rom's and toys.
Four Internet Access PC's with word processing capabilities for
public use (bookings essential).

A Reference Service:
the primary function is to assist people of all ages in the retrieval of information from a variety of library sources - be it for scholastic or personal interests.
Home Delivery Service: available free to housebound people as well as to the Laura Johnson Home. This service is dependent on volunteers.
Storytelling and other childrens activities may be held throughout
the year. Children's Book Week, Christmas, Easter etc. this service is dependent on staff commitments and volunteer participation.
North-West Regional Toy Library for Special Needs and Adults: A
collection of toys, games and equipment is provided for borrowing by:
children and adults with special needs; professionals working with children and adults with special needs; playgroups and early childhood education centres.

A comprehensive service offering a rance of options to women who have experienced past or recent sexual assault.
Office hours are 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Based in the Mount Isa Hospital, the Mount Isa Sexual Assault Service is a free, confidential service for women, provided by professionally trained staff, including social workers, doctors and nurses, experienced in working with issues of sexual assault. Services on offer are:
- Counselling for victims of sexual assault (in particular assaults that occurred within the last 12 months);
- Counselling / Support for the partners and families of survivors of sexual assault;
- Support;
- Medical Care;
- Testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections;
- Emergency Contraception;
- Forensic examinations;
- Information and Referral;
- Assistance in contacting the Police;
- Confidentiality;
- Access to interpreters available.
For counselling of Childhood Sexual Abuse survivors, please contact the Statewide Sexual Assault Helpline on 1800 010 120 for referral to an appropriate service.
