2001 PUBLIC NOTICES

December 28, 2001 - This is a desperation request in an attempt to find an old mate of mine. My name is Clive(Chum) Dunham. I went to school in the Isa at the Mines State School from '48 to '51, then started work at the mine as an apprentice fitter and turner. My parents left in 1954, as did I and came to New Zealand. Apart from a 10 month sentimental return to Mt.Isa in 1957, I have had no lasting contact with my friend William Charles Bradford. He married Anne( nee Cowper). I moved, he moved, we lost contact. My wish is that someone in Mt.Isa knows the address of my mate Bill, or even the town or city he lives in. I can search from there. I would be much obliged if your organisation's Newsletter could help me out.

December 11, 2001 - I was wondering if anyone could help us. My brother was a resident of Mt.Isa, and we were notified yesterday, that he and his wife were found deceased in their home on December 8, 2001.
I'm interested in contacting or hearing from anyone who might have known them. I know they were quiet and kept to themselves, but if any neighbor or ex co-worker might want to e-mail me with any kind words or rememberences, it would be so greatly appreciated, and I would pass it on to the rest of my family.
We live in New Jersey, in the USA, and it is extremly hard, because they are so far away.
My brother and his wife's names are John and Denise DuBas.

Wendy (Markwell) and Ian Christensen, welcome the arrival of their twin girls, Karly and Rachel on the 19th July 2001. The girls were both over 6lbs on arrival and are happy and healthy. Wendy lived with her family in the East Street area for over 26 years and has now moved to Bundaberg. (as has the rest of her family!)

October 7, 2001 - Hi,
I am trying to trace my brothers children, his name was John Finlayson and according to the family he was killed in a mining accident about 1966 or thereabouts, I cannot remember the date exactly. His wife was called Jenny and she remarried, but do not know who to, as most of my relatives who knew are also dead.
 
He had a son named Ian and basically that is about all I know, but would love to know if there are any relatives still living in the area.
If anyone can shed light on the accident in which he died I would be very grateful.

August 10, 2001 - Hello! My son, Per, is in Mt. Isa today. He is from Sweden and he has been working on two farms in Esperance. He is driving around Australia with his old car, a Nissan Bluebird. It's almost a year since he left Sweden. He is going to visit his aunt who now lives in Sydney. In February, we visited Esperance and many other places all over Australia. Your country is very large and beautifull! I just want to send greetings from Sweden to everyone in Mt.isa!

January 26, 2001 - I am looking to get in touch with a number of old friends with whom I attended Mount isa State High in the late eighties. I am wondering if you may know of any internet listings or maps of the town where I can identify various streets which may assist me in my endeavours to make contact with these individuals. Not all of the people with whom I am seeking to get in touch were graduates at the same time as I was and apart from the State High web site and Mount Isa home page, I have stalled rather badly.
