Can you please try to help me in locating her or her son? All I am after is a phone number. My mother's name is Connie Formosa and she is now in her 82nd birthday.

October 15, 2002 - Hi, I'm trying to research my husbands family, and have found out his grandfather - James Walter Neil was killed in a mining accident in Mt Isa in 1930. Is there an easy way to find out about such things - would an inquest have been mandatory, and would the records be available? Thanks for any help, Leonie.

August 12, 2002 - I thought we'd drop a line to thank all those involved in creating and contributing to this site. My family and I have recently been relocated to the UK with MIM and we love to read the monthly news-letter.
It's a wonderful resource for our children to read 'Isa's' news and be updated when chatting with their friends online.
We can't wait to hear how well the recent Rodeo and Madi-Gras went....
Again thanks the Waterhouse family in the UK!

July 10, 2002 - Refer www.mountisa.biz/history/moondarra.php
Statistics:
Inundated Area : 2375 ha.
Catchment Area: 114,000 ha
Full Capacity: 107,000 ML
Maximum Depth: 11 m
84 species of birds have been recorded for the lake and environs
84 species ! That info is way out ! Where did that come from?
I have recorded at least 159 species and there are other species I have yet to identify .. especially the migratory waders that visit Australia from the northern hemisphere each summer.
Mount Isa has heaps of visiting Birdwatchers each year. Last weekend 3 groups of Birdwatchers (travelling independently) stayed at the Moondarra Caravan Park for several days while they birdwatched the Isa area. John Price at the Caravan Park could give you statistics of the number that stay there each year.
The Sewage Ponds are a must for visiting birdwatchers.
I have 2 birdlists that you are welcome to use.
Regards, Bob Forsyth

February 5, 2002 - Hi there folks.
This is a greeting from an ex resident of Mt Isa. My name is Hugh Cairns and I went to the Isa in June 1952 with my
parents, my brother Jim and my sister Morag. We went to join our other relatives namely Bill and Mary Dyet, Bob and Maggie Cairns and the Bradens. The Mt Isa magazine did an article on the family at the time. My family came back to Scotland. My wife and I visited Mt Isa in 1996 and contacted Johnny and Molly Corr who made our visit an absolute delight. They were so hospitable to us and I enjoyed my trip down memory lane as did my wife as she had heard so often throughout our marriage about Mt Isa. She said she felt she knew the place.
Hope you don't mind me writing this. Perhaps through your bulletins you could give our regards to the Corrs and anyone else who remembers our family.
Thank you and god bless.
Hugh Cairns
