Bernie Highfield and I were Fire Officers together at Mount Isa Mines Limited during the 1960`s.The last I heard of him he was living at Helensvale, Queensland post code 4210. October 1, 2003 - My name is Catriona McLaren and I was born in Mt Isa on June 22nd 1972. My Grandmother was well known Edith McLaren or Mrs Mac who was the housekeeper for the Brothers Residence at the same time (I lived in the caravan with my mother Katrina McLaren on the lawn). I left when i was 4 but came back for holidays for a few years later. I have some very special memories of Mt Isa. Mr and Mrs Costello (my godparents), Billy Morgan (a very good friend to the family), the rodeo barbaque, the smell of the library etc. I am planning on a trip next year (I'm living in Britain now) and would love to meet anyone who remembers me or my family all those years ago. If anyone can help i would be greatly appreciative.

September 29, 2003 - I'm looking to contact ex. workmate - Alan Clayton who I understand works (or was working) at the Mine - possible teaching hydraulics. Alan and I worked together in New Zealand in the early 80's. I recall Alan has a son - Sean.
Alan was also keen on motorbike riding.

Jim Holt, High Wycombe Bucks., is anxious to trace the family of the above who left England some 45years ago. Jim was Best Man at Bernards wedding to Sandy. Bernard was a firefighter in High Wycombe and it is known that he pursued this in industry in Mount Isa. Any info welcome.

August 14, 2003 - I would love to hear from my cousin Jodie Letterland who lives in Mount Isa. I don't know her married name but I think her husband's name is Mark and they have two children. The eldest must be about ten-years old and I think his name is Jordan. Jodie has a father called Roy who lives in Mount Newman, WA. April 15, 2003 - I am a Boxing Coach on the Gold Coast and one of my boxers ( An Electrician ) Roman Marteniez is now working in that Mt Isa area for a Company. He has been an amateur boxer on the Gold Coast with great potential winning his only two amateur fights. I am having trouble contacting him on his mobile, could you help me locate him and ask him to ring the Coach on the Gold Coast. If you could do that it would be very much appreciated. April 13, 2003 - Hi, my name is Dutchy Peron (Firsovs). Would love to hear from anyone who attended Mt Isa State High School from 1964-67. I was in the 10C1 1967 class. I am looking for an old school friend. Her name is Robyn Wilson whose dad was the Manager of JR Wyllie & Sons airconditioning. Would anyone have any information as to the whereabouts of her? April 12, 2003 - The reason why I am contacting you is that I am looking for a name for one of the new born koala from last year in our zoo near Antwerp in Belgium. The name has to start with the letter D and has to be an Aboriginal name with a meaning. I thought Dajarra would be a beautiful name to choose but I cannot seem to find the meaning of it.
Please, would it be possible to send me an email back so that I can give this to the zoo. If I win this competition I can be the koala's godmother!

I am trying to contact Mister Len Caesar, now approximately 75 years of age at least, if he is still among 'the living'.

He, Mr Caesar, was employed at MIM for quite a long period. His last address to my knowledge was No. 15 Nineteenth Avenue, but I found out that he is no longer living there.

January 21, 2003 - My brother was killed in a motor bike accident late September 93. His name is Vincent Capewell. This year will be the 10th year anniversary.

My question is "Is there a memorial place I can go to if I was to come to Mt Isa that anyone knows of?"

This would mean alot to me if anyone could give me this information.
