AAOK Moondarra Caravan Park Mount Isa is a quiet, friendly, spacious, riverside caravan park with large drive through sites and self-contained air-conditioned cabins. the caravan park is shade, is located on the Leichhardt River next to a sanctuary, and has many native birds and animals.

AAOK Moondarra Caravan Park Mount Isa is the closest accommodation to Lake Moondarra where you can fish for barramundi, and offers tour bookings for all Xstrata and mine tours. In August every year Mount Isa hosts the Xstrata Mount Isa Rodeo.

Adels Grove is located adjacent to Lawn Hill National Park and close to the World Heritage Listed Riversleigh Fossil Deposits.

Lawn Hill National Park is found in North West Queensland. Travellers can 4WD their way through Mount Isa, Camooweal then stop at Gregory Downs where you can refuel and have a cold one at the Gregory Pub! Adels Grove is only another 135km from the Pub.

Birdsville Caravan Park

Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park

Lawn Hill National Park is situated approximately 400km north-west of Mount Isa and 220km south-west of Burketown. Unsealed roads cover the last 280km from Mount Isa and the entire distance from Burketown. These roads can become impassable for extended periods after rain and travel by 4WD vehicle is recommended. Vehicles towing caravans should travel via the Burke and Wills Roadhouse.

As well as spectacular scenery and wildlife Lawn Hill also have two areas open to view Aboriginal Art. The gorge has a prolific selection of Aboriginal middens and tool factories, which can be viewed, but are definitely not to be collected.

The Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service have built some 20km of marked pathways providing access to the more spectacular viewing areas around the gorge area.

Grassed camp sites can be pre-booked prior to visiting with specific sites set aside for buses or large groups. BBQ's, Tables, Shower & Toilet Facilities are supplied, but please collect your firewood before entering the park. No domestic pets are allowed, if you are traveling with pets, you can arrange them to be left at Adel's Grove Caravan Park for a small fee.

The Lake Julius Active Recreation Centre, located 110 km north of Mount Isa, offers an authentic bush setting for your next group stay.

Programs and Activities

Our experienced staff can provide your group with access to a range of programs and activities that are fun, friendly and safe including basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton and indoor cricket.

• Multi-purpose covered courts (20m x 40m) suitable for netball, basketball, badminton, indoor cricket, conferences and seminars.

Accommodation

The centre offers affordable, comfortable group accommodation for up to 82 people including nine cabins, each sleeping between two and eight, as well as two dormitories, each sleeping up to 16 people.

Most cabins are self contained, with their own kitchenette, showers and toilets (linen is not provided).

Getting there

Due to the centre's remote location, it is important to contact the centre manager or booking officer before you set out.
